Adoption Counselor Role
Summary
A New Leash on Life Chicago Adoption Counselor serves as the liaison and advocate for dogs throughout the rescue and adoption process.
Responsibilities and Duties
Serves as the primary counselor for 1-2 dogs at a time.
Coordinates care of assigned dog(s) in collaboration with fosters and other NLOL team members.
Provides transportation for dogs to and from veterinarian appointments, foster homes, and meet and greets.
Responds to all applicants and inquiries on assigned NLOL dogs.
Reviews applications and communicates with potential adopters.
Coordinates placement of NLOL dogs in their new home and provides guidance to adopters.
Requirements and Skills
Works well in a team environment.
Well-organized.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have access to a dog friendly vehicle.
Must be able available for team planning meetings and conference calls.
